Two Lapel Bulldogs Varsity Pitchers Rally Together To Shutout Frankton

Lapel Bulldogs Varsity defeated Frankton 16-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Connor Gill induced a groundout from Braxten McAdams to finish off the game.

Lapel Bulldogs Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Lapel Bulldogs Varsity.

Lapel Bulldogs Varsity tallied seven runs in the seventh inning. Lapel Bulldogs Varsity’s offense in the inning came from singles by Ryne Wheeler and Devan Frank, a walk by Justin Engle, a fielder’s choice by Levi Frazier, and a double by Gill.

One bright spot for Frankton was a double by Evan Doan in the first inning.
Cameron Holycross was the winning pitcher for Lapel Bulldogs Varsity. He lasted six innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out seven. Gill threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Landon Weins took the loss for Frankton. He went three and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out eight.

Lapel Bulldogs Varsity collected 14 hits on the day. Satchell Wilson, Frank, and Gill each had multiple hits for Lapel Bulldogs Varsity. Wilson led Lapel Bulldogs Varsity with four hits in five at bats.

Doan went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Frankton in hits.
