Lapel Bulldogs Varsity easily dispatched Sheridan 16-3 on Monday.
Sheridan got on the board in the first inning. Brock Harper threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for Sheridan.
Lapel Bulldogs Varsity pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Harper doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run and Caleb Rowland grounded out, scoring one run.
Lapel Bulldogs Varsity notched six runs in the third inning. The big inning was thanks to singles by Noah Clark, Parker Allman, Brennan Stow, and Rowland and a double by Kyle Shelton.
Harper was the winning pitcher for Lapel Bulldogs Varsity. The southpaw went three innings, allowing one run on one hit and striking out six. Owen Imel threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Cole Bales took the loss for Sheridan. The hurler went two and two-thirds innings, allowing 12 runs on 11 hits and striking out three.
Lapel Bulldogs Varsity tallied 11 hits on the day. Harper and Allman each collected multiple hits for Lapel Bulldogs Varsity. Allman and Harper each collected two hits to lead Lapel Bulldogs Varsity.
Bales led Sheridan with one hit in three at bats. Sheridan didn’t commit a single error in the field. Brently Alexander had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.
