Lapel Bulldogs Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 3-1 loss to Pendleton Heights on Tuesday. Pendleton Heights scored on a groundout by Ben Richards, an error, and a single by Schuyler Haynes in the first inning.
The pitching was strong on both sides. Pendleton Heights pitchers struck out ten, while Lapel Bulldogs Varsity sat down three.
Haynes was credited with the victory for Pendleton Heights. He lasted five and a third innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out seven and walking one. Hunter Eikenberry and Logan Mitchell entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
David Rebenack took the loss for Lapel Bulldogs Varsity. He allowed four hits and three runs over five innings, striking out two.
Caden Shirley, Logan Gephardt, Cannon Bledsoe, and Justin Engle each collected one hit to lead Lapel Bulldogs Varsity.
